In August, The Master’s Seminary’s Washington DC location will be hosting Steve Lawson for a three-day seminar on expository preaching. Lawson’s lectures will provide an intense time of training and instruction on the discipline of preaching.
He will define expository preaching, then over several sessions he will give advice on how to make our sermons more powerful. These sessions are designed to be inherently practical—such as how to study the text, how to prepare a manuscript, and how to develop illustrations and conclusions.
This would be a wonderful event for those that want a refresher in expository preaching, or for those that want to grow in their ability in the pulpit.
It begins Monday, Aug 14, at 1pm, and ends Wed, Aug 16, at 1pm, and his held at Immanuel Bible Church. Regan Airport (DCA) is about 25 minutes away, and Dulles (IAD) is about 45 minutes away. There are several hotels in the area.
In order to foster fellowship among the attendees, one dinner and one lunch are provided.
Lawson has written several books on expository preaching, such as Called to Preach, Preaching the Psalms, Famine in the Land, The Kind of Preaching God Blesses, and The Expository Genius of John Calvin. He leads the Doctor of Ministry program at The Master’s Seminary.
